Looking to generate more income in your business as a Pinterest virtual assistant? Well, listen up, because this is for you. Today, we're going to be talking about the most overlooked source of revenue as a Pinterest virtual assistant so that you can stop leaving money on the table and serve more clients with your skill set.

You are leaving money on the table by not offering one-off services.

You may have also heard this called VIP days. I know that is a phrase that everyone is talking about right now. It is super hot, but it's something that I've been doing over the last six years. In fact, I was able to get my first 6K month as a brand new Pinterest virtual assistant by combining these one-off services or VIP day-like offers with retainer services. Now, retainer services are something we're going to talk about in a totally different episode, but I do love that recurring income coming in each month. But let's talk about how you're leaving money on the table by not offering these one-off services or VIP days. All right.

So what does that look like as a Pinterest virtual assistant? How can you offer a VIP day or these one-off services? Say you are on a call with a potential client and they are not yet ready to commit to your ongoing retainer services. So in the past, maybe you've said, "Okay, we can come back in a couple of months and talk about, it and see if you're ready then." What you can offer to not leave that money on the table with that potential client is to get their account set up for them, get everything optimized, get the boards ready, and get their Pinterest marketing platform ready to go. And then you can also offer to teach them how to manage their own Pinterest account. Now, this should be a premium service that you are going to offer so that you can help more people, you can generate more income, and can continue to get paid for your knowledge.

So for me, this has always looked like a hybrid of the done-for-you of getting that whole account set up and ready to go. And then the done with you of the training that client to manage their Pinterest account on their own. And so there are a couple of different ways that I've done this. I have done a one-time training with them, or then you could also upgrade to get support ongoing for like three months. And they could send me an email if they had any questions, and we could get on calls each month, and go over things as they actually start implementing the strategy that you've helped them to get set in place for their Pinterest marketing for their business. So this is going to really make a difference in the impact that you have on the clients that you're able to serve and the income that you're generating with your Pinterest virtual assistant business.

Now, for many of you, this may require some mindset work. Mindset is not something I talk about a lot, but it's definitely something to take into consideration when looking at getting paid for your knowledge. This is getting into that consulting side of things where you're actually not providing 100% services. It's not all done for you work that you're going to be getting paid for. Now, I absolutely did struggle with this. I had a lot of imposter syndrome issues. There were a lot of things that I had to deal with to be okay with getting paid for my brain. That is something that you need to work towards. Getting paid for the knowledge that you have, not just the actual time that you spend providing a service, should be something that you are working towards. This can take some time. So working in baby steps can make it feel a lot easier.

This is going to be one of those really great steps towards that. Being able to provide high-quality service of getting Pinterest set up for this client, but then dipping over into that consulting side of teaching them the strategy that they need to implement, to grow that Pinterest account, to reach more people, to get more website traffic coming in is going to be a totally different ballgame. Now, if you are just getting started, you may feel like you aren't qualified to do that, but let me tell you that you absolutely are. If you can get that account set up and optimized, get the boards in order, and get that solid foundation, then you can help your client get that strategy in place to be able to manage their own account. And that's going to empower them to harness the power of Pinterest marketing for their business and allow you to get paid for your brain.

Something that really helped me with this mindset process of working through and being okay with getting paid for transferring my knowledge about Pinterest marketing to someone else to implement for the strategy was understanding that it is an amazing way to serve people. There are businesses that want to and need to be marketing on Pinterest, but they may not be in a place where they can take on a recurring monthly payment for your retainer services. So if you switch it from a place of, "I'm making money with just teaching someone how to do something," to the fact that you're allowing them to access Pinterest marketing for their business that is going to for months and years to come to send traffic to their website, generating leads, allowing them to continue to grow their own business, then it truly is coming from a place of service and allowing you to make a greater impact and therefore make more income in your business.

If this is not something that you thought about offering in your business, I really want you to consider this. Because like I'd already said, you are going to be able to show up and serve more people in a way that is going to really allow you to maximize the time in your business with the income that you're going to be bringing in.

So what does this actually look like in practice? You are on that discovery call. You are talking through the ways that you can help that potential client. They are really, really interested, but when it comes down to it, the monthly retainer option is not going to be something that's going to work for them. It could be for many different reasons. It could be budget-wise they're just not there yet to take on that recurring monthly payment, or it could be that they have a team that they really would prefer to keep small. And so rather than bringing in a new team member, what they would really love is to have an expert train their current virtual assistant or their current marketing manager to handle their Pinterest marketing.

You can offer to get that account set up. This is probably going to take you just a couple of hours to be completely realistic. This is going to be doing keyword research. That way they have a list of the keywords that are going to be relevant to their niche, to their business, to their content. You are going to get the boards set up. That way there is going to be placed for their content to be pinned. This would typically include setting up Tailwind. So getting their schedule set up to be able to schedule the content easily and quickly. You can look into those tailwind communities to get further reach from the content that they're going to be sharing.

And then what I really love to do is with this service, I still work with my graphic designer to have custom pin images created. And I use these as templates. And then this is something that can easily be handed over to be used again and again, to quickly and easily make those pin images for the content that they're going to put out. So that's going to be the service side of things. That's something that you can have done in a day making this very much like a VIP day. And then the latter part of that VIP day is going to be the training session. Now, I love to hop on Zoom and do a screen share and really just walk them through: how do you use these templates is the first thing? How do you craft a pin description? What about the pin title? How do you actually use tailwind? Make sure that they know how to use everything that they need to have a successful Pinterest marketing strategy that's going to bring them leads and website traffic for months and years to come.

Now, if they are wanting additional support beyond that one call, this is going to be that next-level service that I mentioned before. This is going to be where they can pay to have ongoing access to you via email. I highly recommend setting some boundaries around that. That way you're not getting six emails a day with questions here and there. So I typically say one or two emails a week or something like that. And then with having monthly calls, I really like having this option because it is going to empower them to implement the strategy that you've taught them in that one-off session and then allow them to see what do they actually have questions about. If they get hung up with tailwind, you're going to be there to support them, really being able to implement the strategy well.

The other thing that allows you to do is to get a month or two of Pinterest marketing actually completed so that you can dig into the analytics side of things. So it's not your traditional VIP day in the sense of you're done in a day and you're not going to have to provide any other service to that client anymore. I really like the extended option with this, because it allows me to ensure that this client is getting everything they need and they're fully supported. And they are going to be able to take this strategy and implement it with confidence, knowing that they have support if something comes up or they have a question. And then having that kind of wrapping everything up with looking at the analytics and having true data to go over with them. This is really going to be a premium service. So I want you to really consider offering this. That way you're not leaving money on the table for those clients that are not ready for the ongoing payments that are there with the retainer work.
